Infographic: Is Snapchat right for your brand?

As soon as a new social media site hits the Web, “experts” starting shouting about how your organization must join the new network and cultivate a presence there.

Despite the hubbub, some social networks simply won’t be a good match for your organization. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype of a new communication channel, but try to keep your cool long enough to do a little research and determine whether it makes sense to devote time and resources there.

Snapchat is one social media app that has the communications world in a tizzy. If you’re wondering whether your organization should be on the visual social network, consider this infographic from NewsCred and Column Five. It reveals some optimistic statistics about the app—including that 54 percent of Snapchat users visit the app daily—as well as some cold, hard facts that communicators ought to know, including:

  • Eighty-seven percent of users never buy anything they see on Snapchat.
  • Sixty-four percent of users don’t follow any celebrities on the platform.
  • Fifty-four percent of users never watch Snap Discover Stories, a feature that highlights brand accounts.
