30 jobs in the PR and marketing world

In the communications world, a new year often means a chance to redefine your personal brand.

For job seekers in 2016, there are lots of lists—good and bad—to sort through when looking to find the right employment opportunity.

Many employers have been gradually adding jobs or loosening the strings on hiring freezes, and recruiters say this year has become a seller’s market for job seekers.

Before you begin your job search, consider annual lists from companies such as Glassdoor, which uses survey data from previous or current employees. Its list of 50 best places to work in 2016 had “community marketplace” Airbnb in the No. 1 spot, and it cited users who praised the startup’s “fast growth and amazing people” and “great travel perks.”

Airbnb’s website lists 10 available marketing and communications positions—including a product marketing manager role in San Francisco.

Candidates for that position should have at least five years of product marketing experience, be comfortable leading creative agencies and have a track record of driving business development deals.

A passion for the Airbnb service is strongly preferred. If a candidate has used the service as a guest or is willing to be a potential host for guests, that also bodes well.

If you’re looking to get out of the country for work, there’s an event/field marketing manager opportunity with Glassdoor’s No. 4 company, Hubspot, in Sydney.
