30 jobs in the PR and marketing world

Knowing exactly when to being a job search isn’t the same for everyone.

Some recruiters might recommend waiting until just after Labor Day; others say it’s best to start looking in December. Professional Staffing Group’s Aaron Green simply says:

“The best time to look for a job is whenever you need one…there’s no other ‘right time.’”

Despite what you hear from staffing agencies or think you’ve learned during your years in a certain industry, when you’re looking for new employment it’s never a bad idea to go with the numbers.

According to Glassdoor’s list of the 25 Best Jobs in America for 2016, there’s growth on the horizon for PR and marketing professionals. At least that’s what the numbers show. Glassdoor assigned each profession on its list a 5-point score, which included one vital piece of information useful to job seekers—current number of job openings.

Product manager came in at No. 8 on the list, the highest for the PR and marketing industry. Part of the allure of this positon—it scored 4.5 out of 5 on the Glassdoor scale—is the roughly 6,600 job openings available.

Marketing manager was at ranked No. 14, boasting just over 2,500 jobs, according to Glassdoor’s database. One such opportunity is a product marketing manager position with the ride-booking service Lyft, based in San Francisco.
