Infographic: What recruiters look for in résumés

Employers see an average of 118 résumés per job listing, an infographic from StandOut CV says, and they often don’t read every one.

You can’t blame them. No one has time for that.

That’s why it’s important to make your résumé shine brighter than the rest. Then, as soon as a recruiter sees your résumé, she can stop hunting for candidates and just hire you, right? (We’ll keep our fingers crossed!)

The infographic provides insight into what employers look for when they scan résumés. Two of the top things they want to see are:

1. What you do in your current role: Employers want to know your position, what your goals are in that position, whether you reached those goals, and which tools you regularly use.

2. Numbers: Back up your skills with hard figures that show how much money you added to the bottom line, or by what percentage you expanded your social-media following.
